Boss Mechanics

Angelic Phantoms (Phase Two)

From 60% health the Guardian summons two angelic phantoms that mirror its attacks on a half-second delay. The phantoms share one health bar and die to a single Ice-imbued area hit — this phase tests your weakness system knowledge.

The Heavenly Sweep

The Guardian telegraphs its sweep with a full-second wind-up and a red arc on the floor. Rolling through the blade is safe; standing outside the arc is safer. The sweep always comes in threes — count them, punish the third.

Transformation Window

The grey bar under the health bar is your transformation gauge. Landing weakness hits fills it faster; when full, transform to dispel the Heavenly Curse and reveal your true form. Use the transformed state to clear phantoms quickly.

The phantoms claws hurt more than the boss itself: 3-4 clean hits end an under-geared player. Prioritize clearing phantoms the frame they spawn.

Step-by-Step Strategy

Preparation

Equip your best attack chips within the 256KB budget and bring at least five healing items. The Guardian is fire-attuned — every Ice hit does double damage and staggers faster, so chip choice matters more than raw power here.

The Core Loop

  • Stay at mid-range so the Guardian chooses the sweep instead of the grab.
  • Roll through the sweep, land two hits, retreat before the third swing.
  • At 60%: burn both phantoms instantly with an area Ice attack.
  • Punish the post-summon recovery window with your full combo; repeat until the bar is gone.

After the Kill

The Guardian drops the Floor Access Key 100% of the time — the item that unseals the road to Floor 2. Pick it up before leaving: the door does not respawn the boss, but the key does not auto-loot either.

Killing the boss is not unlocking the floor: the Floor 2 gate only opens when the Key is actually used on it.

Rewards
